Stop Motion
I have always had a certain fascination with stop-motion animation. My favorite movie growing up was Coraline despite the fact it scared the crap out of me. I was excited to get started on a stop-motion production of my own.
I began by creating a storyboard portraying all the necessary scenes in my production. From there, I was able to make changes and plan out the audio that would go along with it. I used the Cricut paper-cutting machine to make my figures and got right to setting up the scene.
I used a tripod to ensure that the camera would remain steady and there would be unexpected shifts in the final product. I also set up a makeshift light source to brighten to the scene, wanting it to resemble a sunny day. The short animation took me a number of hours to complete and working with dental floss in place of fishing line was quite tedious. However, I am happy with the final product and think it delivers a good message to pick on someone your own size.
