User Personas
During a UX course, I was assigned the task of choosing a brand to create two personas. One of the personas was meant to be me for a true understanding of the user’s needs and emotions and the other was a made-up persona for a target market. I chose the New York Mets as I have been a fan all my life and have an insight into the ballpark experience. This was good practice as many companies build personas based on a fictional figure that represents a certain demographic in their market.
The personas I built considered a number of factors that would determine how the user interacts with the service. This includes outside factors, device usage (mobile versus desktop), the user’s motivation versus their ability, and their overall goals when interacting with the interface. All of this information will give designers an insight into what their users want and ultimately what they need.
